Before you book

Make these decisions in order.

  1. 01

List the exact attractions you genuinely plan to visit before choosing a two-, three- or four-item package.

  2. 02

Compare the final pass price with the current individual value of those same items, not the most expensive items in the full catalog.

  3. 03

Map the selected places and include transport, parking and travel time before treating the difference as a saving.

  4. 04

Download and test the Okinawa FunPASS app before the first redemption, but do not start the five-day clock early.

What to know

What the Value Series actually buys

The Value Series is a digital selection pass. Depending on the package, one adult or child can redeem two, three or four eligible items from the current list. An item may be an attraction admission, a product, a food or drink, or a fixed-value coupon. Each redemption normally consumes one choice, even when the cash value is much lower than a major attraction ticket.

That flexibility is useful when the weather changes or a family has not fixed every day. It also creates the main financial risk: the pass name does not guarantee that every possible combination is cheaper than buying separately.

The participating list and individual redemption instructions can change. Use the live official FunPASS page for the exact travel date rather than relying on an old screenshot or a list copied by a travel blog.

What to know

The Value Series does not include Churaumi Aquarium

Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium appears prominently on the official FunPASS website, but the page explicitly marks it as not included in the FunPASS Value Series. Churaumi belongs to a different product series.

Do not buy the two-, three- or four-choice Value package expecting one choice to unlock the aquarium. If Churaumi is the anchor of the trip, compare the separate Churaumi-series product and ordinary aquarium admission before buying anything.

This distinction matters because the aquarium is in Motobu in northern Okinawa. A Value Series route built around Naha or southern attractions can still work well, but it is a different purchase decision.

What to know

The 365-day label is not the sightseeing period

Klook currently describes the pass as valid for 365 days, but that is the activation window after booking confirmation. It does not give a traveler 365 days to use the selected attractions.

Once the first eligible item is redeemed, the pass is valid for five consecutive days including that first day. A first scan late on Monday still makes Monday day one; it does not produce five full 24-hour periods.

Activate before the 365-day booking deadline, but delay the first redemption until the planned cluster of attraction days begins. Check the final voucher in case the exact package shows a different expiry.

What to know

Use a break-even calculation before paying

Start with the final Klook price in the currency charged to your card. Then add the current official displayed value of only the items you will use. The pass is financially worthwhile only when that total is meaningfully higher than the pass price after considering any separate reservation fees, transport and unusable benefits.

As checked on July 26, 2026, the FunPASS site displayed reference values of $18.50 for DMM Kariyushi Aquarium, $12.44 for Okinawa World, $15.49 for ASMUI Spiritual Hikes and $10.26 for Southeast Botanical Gardens. The same page displayed $2.49 for the Shurijo Castle paid area and $2.49 for one ice cream.

These are the FunPASS operator’s displayed reference values, not a guarantee of a venue’s walk-up price or the exchange rate on your purchase date. Recheck the live page and the venue’s own admission terms before using them in your calculation.

What to know

High-value choices usually make the pass work

A simple two-item illustration is DMM Kariyushi Aquarium plus Okinawa World. Their displayed reference values totaled $30.94 when checked. That can outperform a discounted two-choice pass, provided both are already wanted and the final charged price remains lower.

By contrast, combining the Shurijo Castle paid area and one ice cream produced only $4.98 in displayed value. A traveler using two pass credits that way would normally be better buying the items separately.

Fixed ¥1,000 vouchers for an e-bike, marine activities or Yuinchi services may be useful, but the redemption is still one full choice. Calculate against the actual yen discount, not an attraction-level assumption.

What to know

Route efficiency matters more than the biggest theoretical saving

The eligible places stretch from Naha and Toyosaki in the south to Kunigami in the far north. Choosing the four highest displayed values can create a geographically poor itinerary with several hours of travel.

A southern cluster can combine Shuri, DMM Kariyushi Aquarium or little Universe in Toyosaki, and Okinawa World in Nanjo. A central cluster can include Southeast Botanical Gardens, Okinawa Zoo & Museum, Ryukyu Mura, Cape Manzamo or Katsuren Castle. Northern choices include Nago Pineapple Park, Neo Park, Kouri Ocean Tower and ASMUI.

These are planning clusters, not a promise that every combination fits in one day. Check opening hours, last admission, road conditions and the actual distance between the selected places.

What to know

Transport is not part of the pass

The Value Series does not provide buses, taxis, rental cars, fuel, tolls or parking. Those costs can exceed a small ticket saving, especially when attractions were chosen only because they looked valuable.

A rental car can make northern and central clusters easier, while some southern locations can work with local transport. Okinawa bus frequency and journey time vary considerably by route, so map each leg rather than assuming a mainland-style rail network.

A smaller two-choice pass used along one logical route may create more real value than a four-choice pass that forces a detour or turns a relaxed day into a checklist.

What to know

How activation and phone setup work

The current Klook instructions require the Okinawa FunPASS app. After downloading it, enter the serial number beginning with “85” from the booking information and follow the in-app activation steps.

At the first redemption, present the QR code for staff to scan. That scan starts the five-consecutive-day use period. Multiple pass codes can be bound to one phone, which is convenient for families, but it also makes one charged and connected device a single point of failure.

Install the app, sign in and confirm that every code appears before leaving reliable Wi-Fi. Keep the phone charged and carry a power bank. A screenshot may not replace a live, scannable in-app code.

What to know

Redemption is not identical at every attraction

Some partners admit visitors after staff scan the app. Others require an extra paper ticket. The official page currently says DMM Kariyushi Aquarium issues a physical ticket at the counter, while Okinawa World, Kouri Ocean Tower and Nago Pineapple Park use a ticket machine or paper-ticket exchange after the QR step.

Read the official redemption method for every selected item before arrival. A pass visible in the app may still not be the final admission credential at the gate.

Some experiences and services require advance reservations. Limited gifts can run out, and a product marked available while supplies last should never be the only reason to buy the pass.

What to know

Cancellation, closures and typhoon days

Klook currently labels the pass free to cancel before redemption. Once redeemed, or after expiry, it is described as non-refundable. Confirm the final package terms at checkout because reseller conditions can change.

That distinction is important during Okinawa’s typhoon season. A closed attraction after the first scan does not automatically pause the five-day validity or create a refund for the whole pass.

Check weather, venue notices and road conditions before the first redemption. If the forecast puts several selected attractions at risk, use the cancellation option before activation or postpone the start when the voucher permits it.

What to know

Adult and child passes need separate math

Klook currently defines the adult package for ages 15 and over and the child package for ages 4–14, with ages three and under listed as free. Individual attractions can use different age bands or free-admission rules.

A child who enters one or more selected attractions free or at a low rate may not save money with the child pass. Calculate each traveler separately instead of multiplying the adult result by the group size.

Keep every traveler’s voucher and the booking holder’s details available. If all passes are stored on one phone, agree on a backup plan in case the group separates.

What to know

Choose 2, 3 or 4 only after fixing the itinerary

Choose two when the trip has one compact attraction day or when weather flexibility matters more than maximum theoretical savings. Choose three when three eligible places already fit naturally into the five-day route.

Choose four only when the fourth item has genuine standalone value and does not require a forced detour. A souvenir, snack or small coupon added just to consume the last credit is not a saving.

Before checkout, write down the four things that can invalidate the purchase: an excluded attraction, an impossible route, an expiry or first-use date mistake, and an item requiring a reservation you have not secured.
