Klook’s current activity 101836 is titled “Asakusa Kimono & Furisode Rental Experience” and names Wasou Komachi Kanon at Hasegawa Building 3F. The same page mixes women’s kimono, men’s kimono, children’s kimono, summer yukata, furisode, formal visit kimono, Nishaku Sode, hairstyling or makeup and Asakusa photography.

Some options are wearable rental packages; others are additions that do not replace a garment booking. A low price beside the shared activity title therefore does not tell you what a complete visit costs.

Start by selecting the correct date and garment category. Only then add styling or photography, and read whether an add-on requires a base rental in the same order.

What to know

Choose the women’s kimono for a general Asakusa sightseeing day

The standard women’s option is the logical starting point for a casual walk around Kaminarimon, Nakamise and the wider Asakusa area. Klook says women’s kimono rentals include a free basic hairstyle, while more elaborate styles are available as paid upgrades.

“Women’s kimono” is still a package label rather than a guarantee of every garment shown in the gallery. Pattern, fabric, obi combination and accessories depend on the inventory and inclusions available for the selected date.

If a particular colour, traditional rather than lace look, sleeve length or photographic style is essential, request availability before payment. An image liked on the activity page may represent a different package or an on-site upgrade.

What to know

Furisode, Nishaku Sode and formal kimono are not upgrades by appearance alone

Klook currently lists Furisode, Nishaku Sode Kimono and Formal Visit Kimono as separate categories. They should not be treated simply as “more decorative versions” of the lowest-priced rental. Sleeve length, formality, dressing complexity and intended occasion differ.

Choose furisode when that distinctive long-sleeved formal silhouette is the purpose of the booking. Choose a formal visit-kimono package only after checking the actual garment type and coordination included. Nishaku Sode requires the same care: the marketplace’s English package name alone does not explain every styling convention or accessory.

Ask for photos of the active category, included obi and accessories, dressing time and return deadline. This is especially important for a ceremony, proposal, professional portrait or other event where casual substitution would not work.

What to know

The men’s package does not include every look in the gallery

A men’s kimono rental is listed separately. Klook also warns that a men’s kimono-and-hakama look shown in its gallery is a premium style requiring an additional on-site upgrade in the example it identifies.

Do not assume hakama, upgraded belt details, hair styling or every prop is part of the base men’s package. Confirm the complete outfit, footwear, bag, underlayers and optional fees on the package screen.

The listing says guests may choose garments without gender constraints. Travelers selecting outside the marketplace’s usual gender category should still confirm the available height, build, footwear and dressing arrangement rather than relying on the label alone.

What to know

Children need a size match and their own timetable

The public listing gives children’s height ranges of 90–150 cm for girls and 100–150 cm for boys. Height is a useful first filter, but it does not guarantee a suitable garment, shoe size or style for every child on every date.

Klook notes that a premium girls’ hairstyle and hair accessories shown in one gallery example require an upgrade. Check what the base child package includes, whether dressing and simple hair are provided, and whether a supervising adult needs a separate booking.

Allow more time for choice, fitting, toilet use and rest than an adult-only visit. A child may also tire sooner in unfamiliar footwear or summer heat, so keep the walking route shorter and the return buffer larger.

What to know

Use the summer yukata option for heat—not as an automatic kimono substitute

Klook publishes a summer option and says that from June through September, kimono and yukata of the same price can be exchanged after arrival. That flexibility is useful, but it does not mean every reserved garment has a one-to-one yukata equivalent in the desired size and pattern.

Yukata are generally lighter for hot weather, yet an obi, walking, humidity and crowded streets can still feel demanding. Choose based on the forecast and the length of your route, not only the photograph.

Confirm whether the exchange applies to your exact package, what footwear and underlayers are supplied, and whether changing the garment type affects hair, photography or return conditions.

What to know

Basic hair is not the same as the hair or makeup add-on

The shared page says a basic hairstyle is included with women’s kimono. It separately lists an “Exquisite Hairstyling or Makeup” add-on. Those are different service levels, and the add-on should not be purchased by itself unless the selected details explicitly allow it.

Ask what the basic style includes, whether hair length or texture changes the available designs, and which accessories are included. A gallery of elaborate styles is not evidence that every design is free.

Makeup, premium hair and garment dressing take time. If a photography session follows, schedule enough separation for fitting and styling rather than assuming the appointment time is when you will leave the shop.

What to know

Photography has both an add-on and a bundled package

Klook currently shows an Asakusa-area photo-shoot add-on and may also show a Klook-exclusive couple or duo rental bundled with a 30-minute photo shoot. These are not interchangeable: one may require separate garment rentals, while the bundle defines who and what are included.

Before paying, confirm the shooting duration, number of people, route, photographer language, delivery method, number of files, edits, turnaround, rain policy and whether temple grounds or busy streets are guaranteed locations. The public overview does not establish all of those terms.

A promotional portrait does not promise the pictured umbrella, empty background, sunset light or exact Sensoji angle. Public spaces remain crowded and temple access must respect worship and local rules.

What to know

The published size range is guidance—not a stock guarantee

Klook describes adult garments across heights of approximately 150–185 cm. It further describes women’s S–M for heights 150–165 cm with an average build, and L–LL for guests over 165 cm or with a fuller build.

Height alone cannot answer sleeve length, waist and hip fit, shoulder width, footwear or comfort. Send the relevant measurements in advance when you are near the edge of a range, need extended sizing or are booking for a formal event.

Do not pay for several group members on the assumption that “over 1,000 patterns” means every pattern exists in every size. Inventory breadth and a size-specific choice are different claims.

What to know

The shop is on the third floor—save the building, not just the map pin

The venue is Hasegawa Building 3F at 2-19-1 Kaminarimon. Klook places it about 190 metres from Kaminarimon and lists very short walks from two different Asakusa subway exits.

Use Tokyo Metro Ginza Line Asakusa Station Exit 2 if arriving on the Ginza Line, or Toei Asakusa Line Asakusa Station Exit A5 if arriving on the Toei line. Tokyo Metro identifies its station as G19; Toei identifies its Asakusa station as A18. Do not confuse either with Tsukuba Express Asakusa, which is farther west.

Save the building name, third floor, Japanese address and entrance instructions from the voucher. A nearby street-level landmark does not replace the correct lift or stair entrance.

What to know

Confirm step-free access from street to fitting area

The public activity overview does not publish a complete step-free route, lift dimensions, fitting-room accessibility, accessible toilet or seated dressing process. A third-floor address requires more than checking that the nearest station has an elevator.

Ask whether the building entrance, lift, shop threshold and changing area can accommodate your mobility device. Also confirm whether dressing can be adapted, whether a support person may enter and whether they need a reservation.

Traditional footwear can be unstable or uncomfortable for some guests. Ask whether personal shoes may be worn and whether the garment length can be adjusted safely when required.

What to know

Return time is the contract detail that protects the whole day

The shop’s published business hours are 09:00–17:00, but the public Klook overview does not state one dependable same-day return deadline for every package. Do not equate closing time with permission to arrive at the final minute.

Confirm the return cutoff, where the return occurs, late charges, next-day option and emergency contact on the selected package. A special event exception from another date does not apply automatically to your booking.

Work backward from the return time. Include the walk from Sensoji, queues, food, weather, changing and any photography delivery steps. A garment returned late can erase the value of a low base price.

What to know

Check the complete outfit and every possible on-site charge

The public gallery and overview do not provide one complete inclusion table that safely applies to every live package. Confirm dressing, garment, obi, underlayers, tabi or socks, sandals, bag, hair accessory and basic hair separately.

Then check upgrades for premium garments, hakama, elaborate hair, makeup, accessories, photography, late return and next-day return. Ask whether payment at the shop is accepted by card or requires cash.

Save the response with the order. A staff recommendation on arrival may improve the look, but you should be able to distinguish an optional upgrade from a required inclusion before agreeing to the charge.

What to know

Stains, rain, food and luggage need a plan

The public overview does not publish a complete stain, damage, loss or insurance policy. Ask how ordinary marks, food spills, rain damage, torn fabric, lost accessories and broken footwear are handled before wearing the rental outdoors.

Large luggage also complicates a small fitting visit and a day in crowded Asakusa. Confirm whether the shop stores suitcases and valuables; otherwise use accommodation or station storage. Do not leave passports, cash or electronics unless the storage process is explicit.

Eat and drink carefully, keep hems away from wet ground and check the forecast. If severe weather changes your plan, use the booking’s written cancellation or rescheduling rule rather than assuming outdoor photography can be moved without cost.

What to know

Sensoji is a place of worship, not a private photo set

Sensoji’s own English site describes the temple as Tokyo’s oldest and an important centre of faith. Kaminarimon, Nakamise, Hozomon, the main hall and five-storey pagoda are part of an active religious complex visited by worshippers as well as tourists.

A rental garment does not provide priority access, permission to block a path or authority to stage equipment in a worship area. Follow posted restrictions, keep clear of prayers and ceremonies, and ask before photographing identifiable people.

Creators using a commercial photographer, tripod, lighting or a monetized production should confirm location permissions separately. The rental shop can arrange a photographer, but that does not override rules at the temple or on public streets.

Cancellation terms belong to the selected package and date

Klook requires a date and package selection before the full order details appear. During this July 26, 2026 review, the public overview did not expose one stable cancellation cutoff, confirmation rule, late-arrival treatment or weather policy that could be promised across every rental and add-on.

Check the final terms in Japan time. Confirm whether the garment booking, hairstyle, makeup and photographer share the same cancellation policy, and what happens when one component is unavailable.

Before payment, obtain the return deadline, late fee, damage rules, accessibility route, weather policy and every size-critical answer in writing. Compare the final total after upgrades rather than the headline price.

After booking, save Hasegawa Building 3F, the correct Asakusa line and exit, appointment time, contact method and return instructions offline. Recheck the voucher because packages and conditions can change after this July 26, 2026 review.
