JR Central states that baggage with total dimensions over 160 cm and up to 250 cm requires a seat with an oversized-baggage area on covered Tokaido, Sanyo, Kyushu and Nishi Kyushu Shinkansen services. Check the current operator page for the exact service.

Delivery time depends on origin, destination, acceptance time and service. Confirm that the receiving accommodation accepts luggage and that the name and arrival date match the reservation.

Lockers are a convenience, not a guarantee
Size and availability vary, especially at busy stations. Locate staffed storage or another service before arriving with a bag that cannot continue on the planned route.

- Use staffed baggage storage if lockers are full.
- Ask the rail operator to change the reservation if your bag needs a different seat type.
