Tokyo Joypolis fills three levels of DECKS Tokyo Beach with more than 20 rides and interactive attractions. The mix includes an indoor rhythm-game coaster, a powered half-pipe, motion simulators, shooting games, horror experiences, walk-through stories and arcade-style play.

Its strongest use is a weather-protected half-day in Odaiba. Rain, summer heat or winter cold do not cancel the indoor plan, although that advantage also makes rainy weekends especially busy. It feels closer to a compact high-tech amusement park than a traditional outdoor resort.

Do not buy from a list that still includes The Joypolis Explorer: the operator says that attraction closed on May 10, 2026. Use the current attraction and wait-time pages on the day.

What to know

Who should buy the full Passport

The Passport combines admission with repeated use of participating attractions on the day. It suits teenagers, adults and taller children who want a mixture of the ¥700–1,000 rides and have enough time to queue for several.

From August 1, 2026, adult admission-only is ¥1,700 and the adult Passport is ¥6,000. The ¥4,300 difference is roughly five ¥900 attractions or six ¥700 attractions. That is a planning break-even, not a promise: a closure, long wait or restriction can reduce how many rides one person completes.

Allow four to six hours for a Passport-focused visit. Klook’s shorter two-to-four-hour estimate can work on a quiet day or with a short ride list, but spending almost the full Passport price for two attractions is poor value.

Admission-only can be the smarter ticket

Choose admission-only for a parent or companion who will not ride, a traveler visiting for a collaboration, or an Odaiba itinerary with only one or two free hours. Individual ride credit can be bought inside, and an admission holder can upgrade to the Passport by paying the published in-park difference.

The full Passport does not include every activity. The official attraction page marks the DecoPOLIS event area as Passport-ineligible and currently cash-only, while arcade, carnival, food, merchandise and selected collaboration products can add separate charges.

Build a simple personal list before buying: target rides, individual prices, likely waits and restrictions. A group does not need to choose the same ticket type for every person.

Prices and evening options change on August 1

Through July 31, 2026, the official window prices are ¥1,500 adult and ¥1,200 student for admission, or ¥5,800 adult and ¥4,800 student for the full Passport. Adult means age 18 and over; the student category covers elementary, junior-high and high-school students.

From August 1, admission rises to ¥1,700 adult and ¥1,400 student, while the Passport becomes ¥6,000 and ¥5,000. The Night Passport then starts from 16:00 at ¥5,000 adult and ¥4,000 student, and the two-ride night ticket starts from 18:00 at ¥3,100 for elementary-school age and over.

Before August 1, the comparable evening products begin earlier—15:00 for the ¥4,800/¥3,800 Passport and 17:00 for the ¥2,900 two-ride ticket. The operator can change sale times, so verify the selected date rather than relying on the generic name “evening.”

Children need a ride-by-ride check

A preschool child enters free. If the child is under 110 cm, permitted attractions are also free with a guardian aged 16 or over, but the available list is limited. A preschool child at least 110 cm still enters free and pays for attractions.

Several headline rides require 130 cm, including Gekion Live Coaster, Halfpipe Tokyo and Transformers. Storm G requires at least 140 cm and excludes guests at least 200 cm tall or over 110 kg. The Sadako walk-through currently requires 140–184 cm.

Measure children with shoes on, because that is how the operator checks height at the entrance. Do not use the child Passport price alone to decide whether the park suits a young family; first count the attractions that each child can actually use.

What to know

Health and sensory restrictions are significant

The park’s official restriction table excludes pregnant guests and people with particular heart, blood-pressure, neck, spine, seizure or safety-restraint conditions from many moving attractions. Some rides also exclude anyone under the influence of alcohol.

Visitors prone to motion sickness, taking medication that can cause drowsiness, or sensitive to loud noise, heights, darkness or enclosed spaces should speak with staff before joining a queue. Simulators can create strong visual motion even though the building itself is indoors.

A Passport is not a guarantee that every included ride is medically appropriate. A visitor with a relevant condition should make the decision from the official attraction table and staff guidance, not from an influencer’s “not too scary” description.

What to know

Wheelchair access varies by attraction

Wheelchair users can enter the facility, and staff guide visitors to elevators between levels. The attraction table, however, permits a wheelchair on only selected experiences or with specific companion and operating conditions.

For example, MISSION SPARK and several non-moving activities have a more permissive listing, while the major coaster, half-pipe and motion simulators are not wheelchair-accessible. LASER SHOOTING can accept up to three wheelchairs per operation with a companion under the current note.

Check every priority attraction before paying for unlimited rides. Eligible disability-document holders and up to two companions receive free admission under the official ticket policy, then can buy individual ride credit or the in-park Passport as appropriate. Confirm overseas documentation with the operator before travel.

What to know

English support is useful but not complete

Joypolis publishes an English overview, attraction list and restriction guide, and Klook provides an English voucher flow. That does not mean every story, live explanation, collaboration or game is fully translated.

Physical attractions such as the coaster, half-pipe, laser shooting and rhythm or reaction games depend less on long Japanese dialogue. Ace Attorney, Attack on Titan, horror narratives and temporary character collaborations can lose context when a visitor cannot follow Japanese.

Use the English attraction page to make a priority list in advance and save screenshots of essential restrictions. Treat staff assistance as help with safe operation, not a guaranteed private translation of every attraction.

Hours, queues and August crowd risk

Opening and closing times change by date. Final entry is 45 minutes before closing, and an attraction queue can close earlier when its wait would extend beyond operations. A ticket in hand does not guarantee joining every line near closing.

The operator’s July 13, 2026 crowd notice identifies rainy days, weekends, national holidays and three-day weekends as busy. It describes August as one of the busiest months and expects especially heavy crowds from August 8–16 during the Obon period.

For those dates, arrive for opening, check the live digital wait-time map and go directly to the most important high-capacity or headline attraction. A late arrival can still suit a discounted night plan, but not a wish list of every major ride.

What to know

New and temporary experiences in summer 2026

NARUTO Music Dancer opened on July 24, 2026. The official page describes a one-to-five-person dance game using music from Naruto Shippuden; it costs ¥1,000 individually, accepts the Passport and has no published height minimum.

Joypolis is also marking its 30th anniversary from July 12, 2026 through July 11, 2027. Current seasonal listings include the DigitaReal Summer Festival through September 6, BLUE LOCK in JOYPOLIS 3 through September 11 and BLOOM WORLD in JOYPOLIS through October 4.

A collaboration can include a show, themed ride version, food, merchandise or paid event content rather than a new Passport-included attraction. Check the event page’s package and language details before buying primarily for one character.

What to know

Reach the third-floor entrance in Odaiba

Tokyo Joypolis occupies the third through fifth floors of DECKS Tokyo Beach at 1-6-1 Daiba, Minato City. It is about two minutes on foot from Odaiba-kaihinkoen Station on the Yurikamome or about five minutes from Tokyo Teleport Station on the Rinkai Line.

From central Tokyo, the Yurikamome route via Shimbashi gives a scenic Rainbow Bridge approach, while through-running Saikyo and Rinkai Line trains can simplify travel from Shibuya, Shinjuku or Ikebukuro. Confirm the actual train because not every JR service continues onto the Rinkai Line.

Public transport is safer in the summer peak. The DECKS car park removes its weekday daily maximum from July 18 through August 31, 2026, and the operator warns that entry can take more than one hour around Obon.

Re-entry makes an Odaiba day flexible

An admission ticket or Passport issued that day allows repeated re-entry without a separate procedure until final entry. Keep the physical ticket safe and use the freedom to eat elsewhere in DECKS or take an Odaiba waterfront break.

This is useful because outside food and drink cannot be brought into Joypolis. Food is available at D-Lounge, Frame Café and snack counters, but a group may prefer the wider dining options in the complex.

Re-entry does not preserve a place in an attraction line. Return early enough to re-enter before the 45-minute cutoff and to join any final ride queue before it closes.

What to know

Luggage, money and payment

The operator lists three locker sizes at ¥400–700. Luggage that does not fit can be left at the first-floor information counter for ¥1,000, subject to item restrictions. Store valuables, food and anything essential elsewhere rather than assuming the counter will accept it.

There is no ATM inside Joypolis. The closest one identified by the FAQ is in the FamilyMart on the first floor of DECKS Tokyo Beach, and same-day re-entry makes it reachable. Credit cards and transit IC cards are accepted at many named park counters and machines, but not every concession uses every method.

The official FAQ says PayPay and other unlisted QR services are not accepted, and Dippin’ Dots is currently cash-only. Keep some yen even if the Passport itself was prepaid in USD.

What to know

Creators must keep cameras out of rides

Personal photography is generally allowed in common areas when it does not disturb another guest or operations. Photography is prohibited inside most attractions and in designated collaboration content.

Live streaming is not allowed. Large tripods, lighting and other equipment can be refused for safety, and staff may stop any shoot that interferes with the park. A Passport does not grant commercial filming rights.

Creators should plan handheld common-area shots, respect no-photo signs and contact the corporate or press channel in advance for monetized production. Do not hold a phone during a moving attraction.

How the Klook Passport works

The current Klook one-day Passport is an open-validity mobile voucher rather than a reserved ride schedule. Klook currently displays validity through March 31, 2027, instant confirmation and a full refund while the voucher remains unused and unexchanged.

Show the voucher in the Klook app to entrance staff and do not activate or operate it yourself before the visit. The listing says staff exchange it for the day’s physical ticket. Keep that ticket because it is scanned for attractions and enables same-day re-entry.

Klook states that some attractions and games require an additional charge. Confirm the validity, included product, age category, cancellation state and exchange instructions again at checkout; reseller conditions can change independently of the park’s non-refundable direct-ticket rule.

What to know

A low-risk visit plan

Before buying, choose five or six priority attractions and check every participant’s height and health eligibility. Compare the official adult or student price with Klook’s final USD total and keep admission-only companions on a cheaper ticket.

On the visit day, confirm hours and closures, arrive near opening, let staff exchange the Klook voucher and go first to the most important headline ride. Use the live wait map to fill gaps with shorter interactive attractions rather than queuing in list order.

Take a meal or waterfront break using re-entry, then return before final admission. Stop joining queues well before closing if a train, airport transfer or restaurant reservation follows; the line can outlast the published park-entry cutoff.
