teamLab describes Borderless as one continuous world in which artworks move beyond individual rooms, influence one another and respond to visitors. There is no fixed route and no visitor map. The point is to wander, notice an artwork reappearing elsewhere and accept that not every visitor will see the same sequence.

That freedom is the attraction and the main source of anxiety. Visitors who need a checklist of rooms can feel lost, while photographers who rush toward the most recognizable installation can miss quieter spaces. Give the experience two to three hours and revisit a promising junction instead of trying to complete an imaginary route.

Borderless is in Azabudai; Planets is a different ticket

This article covers teamLab Borderless: MORI Building DIGITAL ART MUSEUM at Azabudai Hills Garden Plaza B B1. teamLab Planets is a separate museum in Toyosu with separate admission. A ticket, review, dress instruction or station name for one venue should not be applied to the other.

Before paying, verify that the product says Borderless, Azabudai Hills and activity 20707 when using Klook. Save the exact entrance pin because the large Azabudai Hills development contains several towers, plazas and underground levels.

Official prices use a dynamic calendar

The official site currently starts adult online admission at ¥3,600, with adult dates ranging up to ¥5,600. Ages 13–17 are ¥2,800, ages 4–12 are ¥1,500 and children aged three or younger enter free. Visitors with a recognized disability certificate and one companion can buy discounted tickets; the official page says certificates from any country and the Mirairo ID app are accepted.

A ¥12,000 Flexible Pass removes the admission-time restriction but still applies to one selected date. For most travelers, an ordinary timed pass is better value. On-site sales, when inventory remains, use different prices, and tickets may sell out. Treat the live calendar—not a blog’s single price—as the price source.

Official booking is the clearer flexibility choice

Official direct tickets are generally non-cancellable, but eligible date and time reservations can be changed up to three times. For an Entrance Pass, the change must be made at least two hours before the reserved time. The new slot must have availability, and one order cannot be split so that only some tickets move.

The current Klook page shows a “Changeable” badge on several package cards, while an expanded package panel also states that no cancellations, refunds or changes can be made. Because those statements conflict, do not promise Klook flexibility from the badge alone. Open the selected date and package, read the final conditions and save them before purchase. If itinerary flexibility is decisive, direct official booking has the more explicit published rule.

When the Klook option can still make sense

Klook activity 20707 currently sells the ordinary timed Entrance Pass, a higher-priced Flexible Pass, limited student products and packages that may add Tokyo City View or a promotional gelato offer. These are different purchases. The City View combination does not include Mori Art Museum or the rooftop Sky Deck, and the gelato requires checking the exact EN TEA HOUSE condition.

Choose Klook when the date is firm, the final USD price is competitive and a specific included extra has real value. Do not buy a combo simply because the headline discount looks large: compare each included attraction’s exact date, access and opening hours with the route you can realistically complete.

Important 2026 hours and closure exceptions

The official calendar checked on July 26, 2026 shows regular hours of 8:30–21:00 with last entry one hour before closing. It lists early closing at 17:00 on July 31 and September 1, extended closing at 22:00 from August 8–15, and closure on August 25 and September 8. Previously listed July closure dates have already passed.

Hours can change with notice, so check the official page again on the morning of the visit. A ticket time controls when you join the entrance line, not a promise of immediate entry; the venue warns that busy periods can still create a wait.

How long to stay and what the timeslot means

There is no official limit on how long you can stay after admission, but re-entry is prohibited. Two hours is enough for a focused visit; three hours gives more freedom to revisit changing rooms, use the app and stop at EN TEA HOUSE. Longer is possible, though visual and sensory fatigue can reduce the value.

Use the restroom, eat and organize the group before scanning in. EN TEA HOUSE requires at least one drink per person, and its hours begin after the museum opens and end before the museum closes. Do not plan an outside meal between artworks because leaving ends the visit.

The easiest route is underground from Kamiyacho

The official access guide places the museum about two minutes from Kamiyacho Station Exit 5 on the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line and about six minutes from Roppongi-Itchome Station Exit 4 on the Namboku Line. Both routes connect through underground passages, so follow Azabudai Hills and teamLab signs without going up to street level.

Arrive early enough to navigate the complex, but do not wait around the museum entrance before your slot. If driving, teamLab directs visitors to Azabudai Hills P6 and the D elevator to B1; the museum itself has no dedicated car park.

Wear trousers and stable shoes

The venue is dark and contains uneven footing, low ceilings, flashing light, loud sound and aromas. Some works have mirrored floors. The official venue provides wrap skirts near the relevant artwork, but trousers are the simplest way to avoid unwanted reflections. Borderless does not require the barefoot water preparation associated with a different teamLab venue.

Choose shoes that remain stable in darkness and keep both hands available when moving through unfamiliar space. Pregnant visitors are not permitted in some areas, and families must closely supervise children. Children of elementary-school age and younger require an adult aged 18 or older, with at least one adult for every five children.

Baggage, strollers and accessibility

Items larger than 50 cm, food, alcohol, uncapped drinks and several other categories cannot enter. Strollers must be placed in the luggage room, and free lockers are available. Keep valuables with you because the venue disclaims responsibility for loss or theft.

Wheelchairs and stretchers can use an elevator, but some artworks are not passable and the number admitted at one time is limited. The official page publishes a 1,000 mm elevator entrance and 1,600 by 1,350 mm interior. Visitors who need mobility assistance should contact the venue in advance; an attraction being generally accessible does not mean every artwork is accessible.

Photography is allowed, but creator use has limits

Personal photos and video can be shared on social media. Flash, monopods, tripods, selfie sticks and other photographic aids of 30 cm or more are prohibited. Do not block other visitors or touch projectors, sensors and lights.

Commercial filming and photography require prior consent. A Klook or official admission ticket does not grant production rights for monetized shoots, brand work, news gathering or controlled setups. Creators should use teamLab’s inquiry channel before the visit.

The best purchase is the least complicated ticket that matches a confirmed Tokyo day. Use official direct booking when the right to change an eligible slot matters. Use Klook when the date is fixed and its final standalone or combo value is better after every inclusion is verified.
