The 2026 Harbour Concert guests include the Mongolian ensemble Khusugtun and Miyake-jima Geino Doshi-kai alongside Kodo. The setting adds to the appeal, but the island location also creates hard constraints: ferry capacity, accommodation and travel after the evening concert can matter as much as the event ticket.

Earth Celebration 2026 is scheduled for August 21–23 in Ogi, Sado Island, Niigata Prefecture. The main Harbour Concert runs from 18:30 to about 20:00 on all three evenings at Ogi Port Park Event Stage. Gates for the concert open at 17:30, with timed meeting and entry procedures for the different seating areas.
Friday, August 21 is Matsurine — Summer Special; Saturday, August 22 is Earth Echoes — Kodo x Khusugtun; and Sunday, August 23 is Shukusai — Onwards. The daily schedule also includes daytime workshops and performances, and selected late programs continue after the Harbour Concert. Ticket availability is now the first decision
In its August 14 box-office update, the organizer said every ticket tier for the Sunday, August 23 Harbour Concert had sold out. Limited tickets remained for Friday, August 21 and Saturday, August 22, and the organizer expected those dates to reach capacity. This availability is time-sensitive: open the official reservation site before booking non-refundable transport around a concert.
Harbour Concert tickets are divided into Premium, SS, S and A areas. Premium has reserved seating spaces; SS, S and A use numbered entry order, with earlier purchase generally producing an earlier number. The official English ticket page presents the current seat-category prices in its ticket charts, so verify the exact amount and included seating area in the live purchase flow rather than relying on a copied price. A rush ticket adds ¥500 only if rush admission is offered.

There is no single all-festival price
The Ogi festival area includes both free and ticketed programming. Harbour Concerts, workshops and some experiences require separate tickets; walking through the market or attending a listed free event is not the same as holding a concert ticket. Check the official schedule entry for each activity before assuming it is included.
Published workshop and experience prices range from ¥2,500 per adult-child pair for the young-child eurhythmics sessions to ¥7,000 for an adult Kodo Village rehearsal-hall visit, with several taiko and music workshops priced from ¥4,000 to ¥6,000. Tickets are limited, sold first come, first served and close at capacity. There are no waitlists, and paid orders generally cannot be changed or canceled.

Ogi Port is the nearest transport node—not a train station
Sado Island has no railway station. Travelers reach the island by ferry or jetfoil, then continue by bus, charter service, taxi or car. The organizer lists two mainland routes: Niigata Port to Ryotsu Port and Naoetsu Port to Ogi Port. Ogi Port is about a 10-minute walk from the main Ogi venues; Ryotsu Port is about a one-hour drive away.
For a short festival-focused visit, arriving at Ogi can reduce the on-island transfer, but the useful route depends on the operating ferry and mainland connection. If arriving at Ryotsu, confirm the EC charter or regular bus timetable and the after-concert return before travel. Do not treat a map's drive time as a promise that a taxi or bus will be available on demand.

Plan the outdoor seating, heat and payment details
Premium, SS and S ticket holders sit on the lawn and should bring a picnic mat; Area A has chairs. Umbrellas are prohibited during concerts because they block views, so pack a raincoat. The organizer also recommends water, sun protection, insect repellent and a warm layer for the cooler island evening. Glass bottles and fragile glass or ceramic containers are prohibited inside the concert venue.
Some festival locations accept cards or cashless payment, but others are cash only. The Harbour Concert venue shop is cash only, and individual market stalls set their own payment methods. Carry enough yen for food and small purchases without depending on one ATM, while keeping valuables secure in the crowd.

Rain, cancellation, refunds and same-day checks
Outdoor events, including the Harbour Concerts, are planned to proceed in rain. An event may be canceled or postponed if the presenter judges that weather creates foreseeable danger or a safety concern. Recheck the official updates, ferry operator and Japan Meteorological Agency warnings before leaving the mainland and again before entering the venue.
If a Harbour Concert is canceled before it begins, the organizer says a full refund is available under the purchase channel's procedure. If cancellation happens after the concert has started, there is no refund. Transport disruption is not a refund reason when the ticketed event goes ahead, which is why ferry and event status must be treated as separate decisions.

- The preferred ferry is unavailable: compare the other operating Sado route only after confirming the extra on-island transfer and final return.
- Nearby lodging is full: do not assume an overnight waiting area exists; use official lodging assistance or rebuild the trip around confirmed transport.
- Severe weather affects the crossing or venue: follow the ferry operator and organizer, and do not travel merely because the concert has not yet posted a cancellation.
