Klook’s current package selector separates Tokashiku Beach swimming, Aharen Beach swimming and an Aharen option that also names Tokashiki Beach snorkeling. A general activity title containing both swimming and snorkeling does not make guided snorkeling part of every package.

The beach choice changes the day. Aharen is the larger settlement-side beach with more services, while Tokashiku is a separate bay with its own controlled swimming area. A guided offshore component can use another permitted area and operator boat rather than simply adding a mask to free beach time.

Enter the real travel date, open the full package name and screenshot the inclusion list. Do not buy from the headline price or gallery because a swimming-only option can appear beside a materially different guided snorkel product.

Miegusuku Port and Tomari Port are not interchangeable

The activity selector checked July 27, 2026 showed a cruise-boat departure from Naha Miegusuku Port. Tokashiki Village’s public Ferry Tokashiki and Marine Liner Tokashiki depart from Tomari Port. These are different terminals in Naha.

Older package combinations or a different selected date may show Tomari with a ferry or high-speed boat. The final voucher—not an old review, saved map or public-ferry timetable—controls where a commercial package meets and which boat it uses.

Save the exact port name, meeting pin, counter or staff marker and check-in deadline offline. Allow extra time for a taxi or bus to stop on the wrong side of a large port area, and never redirect yourself to Tomarin merely because it is the better-known Kerama terminal.

Use the village timetable only for public-ferry packages or DIY travel

Tokashiki Village currently publishes a normal summer timetable of about 70 minutes for Ferry Tokashiki and about 40 minutes for Marine Liner Tokashiki. Its monthly timetable and live sailing notice control actual operation and can include extra seasonal sailings.

Those times do not govern a Miegusuku cruise-boat package. They are useful only if the selected booking explicitly uses the public ferry from Tomari or if you are comparing the packaged trip with an independent day visit.

For DIY travel, the current official round-trip adult fares are ¥3,210 by Ferry Tokashiki and ¥4,810 by Marine Liner, plus a ¥100 environmental cooperation tax for applicable travelers. Add island bus or taxi, beach services, equipment, food and the risk of separately held reservations before declaring DIY cheaper.

Summer seats can sell out before the day

Tokashiki Village says June through October is crowded and strongly recommends reservations. It warns that passengers without reservations may not be able to board. On July 27, 2026, its live homepage marked the principal morning and return sailings full, illustrating the capacity pressure rather than predicting another date.

For public-ferry travel in summer, the village asks passengers to reach the ticket office one hour before departure. Boarding begins 30 minutes before Marine Liner and one hour before Ferry Tokashiki, with everyone aboard at least 10 minutes before departure.

A marketplace booking can have its own check-in time, vessel allocation and minimum-operation rule. Follow the selected package’s voucher when it is stricter, and do not assume an island hotel or beach reservation guarantees transport.

Aharen swimming is not automatically guided snorkeling

An Aharen Beach swimming package primarily buys transport and beach time. It may allow snorkeling inside the permitted swimming area under local rules, but that is different from a guided boat or offshore snorkel session with dedicated equipment and supervision.

The package whose name specifically adds Tokashiki Beach snorkeling should be checked for guide language, water entry, session length, equipment, life jacket, insurance and transfer. Public page wording does not establish that every mask, fin, wetsuit, towel, locker, shower or photograph is included.

If snorkeling is the main reason to book, choose the package for that component rather than hoping to add it after arrival. Day-of rentals and marine activities depend on stock, weather, operator capacity and the allowed zone.

Tokashiku Beach has controlled swimming and boat zones

Tokashiku Beach is known for clear water and a bay used by sea turtles, but wildlife is never guaranteed. Village-linked safety information separates the ordinary swimming area, restricted areas used through managed tours and a prohibited navigation route.

Stay inside the marked zone unless an authorized guide moves the group through a permitted activity area. Do not swim toward an offshore reef or follow another tour because the water appears calm.

Sea turtles feed on their own schedule. Never chase, touch, surround or block one for a photograph. Book the beach for its protected setting and swimming time, not as a promised turtle encounter.

Follow the supervised season and live beach status

Tokashiki Village lists the 2026 supervised swimming season from April 11 through November 30. Monitoring hours are 9:00–18:00 from April through September and 9:00–17:00 in October and November.

Those dates and hours do not make the water open under every condition. Beach staff can restrict or prohibit swimming for waves, currents, lightning, marine hazards or other safety reasons. Follow flags, ropes, announcements and guide instructions.

Outside the supervised season or hours, do not infer safety from other people entering the water. Select a date with an operating package and confirm how the provider manages the beach component.

What to know

Snorkel safely and protect the reef

Wear a correctly fitted life jacket even if you are a confident swimmer, stay with a buddy or guide and stop before fatigue becomes a problem. A calm-looking beach can still have current, boat traffic and changing visibility.

Do not stand on, kick or collect coral. Keep fins and hands away from the seabed and never touch fish, turtles, sea cucumbers or other marine life. Follow the designated swimming and activity zones rather than pursuing a better camera angle.

Use reef-conscious sun protection where practical and secure cameras without trailing lines that can catch on coral. A tour booking permits ordinary participation; it does not grant drone, commercial-production or unrestricted underwater-access rights.

Check every equipment and facility inclusion

Klook’s overview currently describes round-trip boat transport, beach free time and a curry-rice lunch, but the package selector and voucher must confirm what applies to the chosen option and date.

Verify mask, snorkel, fins, life jacket, wetsuit, instructor, island transfer, lunch, changing room, shower, locker, towel and photographs one by one. Bring a swimsuit under easy-change clothing, a dry change, bath towel, sun protection, waterproof footwear and a waterproof bag unless the selected package says otherwise.

Aharen has commercial beach services, but day-of parasols, chairs, kayaks and towable activities are separate purchases subject to availability and conditions. Carry some yen because Tokashiki Village warns there is no ATM near Aharen Beach.

What to know

Age, health and swimming rules require package-specific confirmation

The public page can change age bands and participant restrictions when a date or package is selected. Check the youngest and oldest permitted ages, minimum swimming ability, child supervision ratio and whether non-swimmers can remain on the beach.

Ask the provider in writing before payment about pregnancy, heart or respiratory conditions, ear problems, recent surgery, mobility needs and any medication that affects safe participation. Do not conceal a condition to preserve a booking.

A beach-swimming package may accept a traveler whom a guided snorkel package cannot. Each participant should be attached to the correct package rather than assuming one group eligibility rule covers everyone.

What to know

Wind and waves can change or cancel the entire day

Tokashiki Village updates public-vessel operating status daily at 8:00. Its general guidance says Marine Liner may cancel when wave height exceeds three metres and Ferry Tokashiki when it exceeds four metres, but the captain and operator make the actual safety decision.

A cruise boat from Miegusuku has its own operating criteria. Public-ferry operation does not prove a charter runs, and a ferry cancellation does not automatically describe the marketplace refund for another vessel.

Read the selected package’s cancellation, route-change and operator-cancellation terms before paying. Keep the evening free, avoid a same-day flight and monitor email or app messages because a late return, alternate beach or shortened water session can follow changing conditions.

Final booking checklist

First choose Aharen swimming, Tokashiku swimming or the package that explicitly includes guided snorkeling. Confirm the date, duration, exact Naha port, check-in time, boat, island transfer, beach and return estimate.

Match the inclusion list to your needs: guide language, lunch, equipment, life jacket, wetsuit, shower, locker, towel, photos, age, swimming ability, health restrictions, insurance and cancellation. Compare the final USD amount with DIY public-ferry costs only after adding every island expense.

On the day before travel, save the voucher and operator contact. On departure morning, check messages, weather and live status, arrive early at the correct port and accept the day only if the broader beach experience remains worthwhile without guaranteed visibility, wildlife or a specific offshore site.
