What to know
Why the museum can exceed expectations
SMALL WORLDS is an indoor miniature museum in Ariake, close to Odaiba and Toyosu. Its official site describes a roughly 7,000-square-metre space built around miniature scenes, precise model-making, moving mechanisms and day-to-night lighting.
The appeal is discovery. A visitor who only walks past the large sets can finish quickly, while someone who watches aircraft cycles, presses interaction buttons, looks for jokes and changes camera height can spend much longer. This is closer to a museum of tiny stories than a conventional ride-based theme park.
Plan about two to three hours as a practical starting point, not an official duration. Families, model makers and photographers may need half a day; travelers with little interest in miniatures can pair a shorter visit with another Ariake or Toyosu attraction.
What to know
The current areas are broader than one anime
The official current area list includes the Space Center, Diaclone, Global Village, Creators Gallery, a developing Shibuya area, Kansai International Airport, Evangelion Hangar, Evangelion TOKYO-III and Ariake Arena.
Kansai International Airport is one of the easiest scenes to understand without Japanese: aircraft taxi, take off and land while visitors watch from a miniature terminal setting. Global Village mixes imagined Asian and European cityscapes, and Creators Gallery focuses attention on individual model makers.
The Evangelion areas recreate the hangar and TOKYO-III at miniature scale. Effects, lighting and moving elements are machines, so any single sequence can be unavailable even while the museum remains open.
What to know
Do not book for Sailor Moon without rechecking
Klook’s current English marketing copy still mentions a Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon area. The museum’s official current area list checked July 26, 2026 does not include that area.
This mismatch is exactly why a reseller description should not establish the current exhibit lineup. Anime collaborations, licensed areas and construction projects can end, change or reopen under new conditions.
If a specific franchise is the reason for visiting, open the official area and news pages immediately before purchase. Admission to the museum is not a guarantee that every attraction ever shown in product photographs still operates.
What to know
Two headline rocket effects are currently suspended
The official July maintenance notice says the space-shuttle and Saturn-rocket launch effects are suspended. The museum remains open, and the Space Center can still be viewed, but marketing video of a launch should not be treated as a current promise.
Mechanical miniature attractions require maintenance without closing the whole facility. The airport, Evangelion and other effects can also change independently, so check the notice page again on the visit day.
A Klook review or photograph from an earlier date proves what that traveler saw, not what will operate for your ticket.
What to know
Hours and official ticket prices
The official site currently displays 9:00–19:00 with last admission at 18:00, but it tells visitors to use the operating calendar because daily hours and closed dates can change. Arriving at 18:00 would leave only one hour on that schedule and is poor value for a detail-heavy museum.
Official tax-inclusive admission is ¥3,200 for adults aged 18 and over, ¥2,100 for ages 12–17 and ¥1,700 for ages 4–11. The Japanese official page says children aged three and under are free. These prices were checked July 26, 2026.
Same-day tickets are normally sold at the museum, but entry can be limited temporarily when crowded. An advance ticket reduces the ticket-counter decision, yet it does not override an emergency closure or maintenance notice.
What to know
A three-year-old needs a category check
The Japanese official ticket page says admission is required from age four and that ages three and under are free. Klook’s current campaign package, however, displays a paid child category for ages 3–11.
If your child is exactly three, do not assume the reseller category is the only option. Ask the museum or Klook to confirm eligibility before buying a non-refundable child ticket, and keep the written answer.
For older children, compare age on the visit date rather than school grade used in another country. The official junior band is 12–17, with a specific Japanese-school-year rule for an 18-year-old still in high school.
What to know
Understand the current Klook package
Klook currently displays a 2026 summer campaign ticket combined with a Takeya shopping benefit. It is shown as instantly confirmed, valid for 180 days and non-cancellable. Those terms apply to the selected commercial package, not every ticket the museum may sell.
A long validity period provides date flexibility but should not be read as guaranteed entry at any minute, a refund for a suspended effect or permanent availability of every exhibit. Check how the voucher is exchanged and whether the shopping benefit is useful for your actual itinerary.
Compare the final USD price with the official yen admission for every age category. A percentage discount can be offset by an unnecessary coupon, an unfavorable category or the loss of cancellation flexibility.

The 3D figure is not an instant included souvenir
The 3D Figure Studio can scan a person in roughly five to ten minutes when the process runs smoothly, but production happens afterward. Standard figure sizes, group discounts, resident plans and shipping are separate purchases from admission.
The official figure page says production generally takes about one month. A homepage update dated July 20 reported approximately 45 days for people scanned in June, showing that the queue can be longer. You do not simply scan and carry the finished figure out that afternoon.
The official page currently describes delivery by mail, including international DHL rates that vary by region and product. Confirm whether your country is supported, the complete figure and shipping price, production time, pose limitations and what happens if delivery fails before paying.

Photography is welcome, with important limits
Personal photos and video are allowed throughout the museum, and social sharing is encouraged. That makes the low viewing angles, miniature interiors and moving vehicles especially attractive to creators.
Tripods, selfie sticks, reflectors, softboxes and other lighting equipment are prohibited. Visitors must not film while walking, touch the miniatures or photograph other guests without permission. During busy periods, the museum asks people to keep a photo spot to about three minutes.
Commercial photography requires advance approval. A standard admission ticket does not grant permission for a sponsored shoot, professional production or other commercial use.

Access from Ariake and nearby stops
The shortest official rail route is about three minutes on foot from Ariake-Tennis-no-mori Station on the Yurikamome. Kokusai-tenjijo Station on the Rinkai Line is about nine minutes away.
Toei bus routes and Tokyo BRT also stop near Ariake-Tennis-no-mori, while the Haneda airport bus stop at Ariake Garden is about ten minutes away on foot. Confirm the current transport timetable rather than treating the attraction page’s walk as a full airport-transfer plan.
There is no general dedicated visitor car park. The museum points drivers to nearby paid hourly parking; accessible spaces immediately in front are limited and reserved for wheelchair users.

Accessibility, luggage and food rules
Wheelchairs and strollers are welcome, with ramps, elevators and multipurpose restrooms. The gallery elevator entrance is 80 centimetres wide and the cabin is 130 by 140 centimetres, so users of a wide chair should compare those measurements before travel.
One wheelchair is listed for loan, subject to availability. The museum also has nursing rooms, water dispensers and a small prayer room. Confirm any essential accommodation directly because a listed facility can still be occupied or temporarily unavailable.
Coin lockers are near the first-floor exit hall, and the counter can store oversized luggage for a fee. Outside food and drink are generally prohibited, with exceptions described for allergies and some small child snacks, candy, gum, water bottles and drinks.

A better half-day plan
Check hours, maintenance and the current areas before leaving. Arrive with the voucher saved offline, then begin with the franchise or moving display that matters most rather than following the first crowd.
Alternate wide views with low-detail observation, allow aircraft and lighting cycles to repeat, and use the café or airport lounge before attention fades. Start any 3D-figure order early enough to ask about shipping without rushing the rest of the museum.
Pair the visit geographically with Ariake Garden, Tokyo Big Sight, Toyosu or Odaiba. Do not schedule a distant reservation immediately after the last admission time; the Yurikamome and Rinkai lines lead to different parts of Tokyo.
