What to know
Directly connected means the International Terminal
Portom occupies floors 4–8 of New Chitose Airport’s International Terminal, with reception on 4F. Hotel entrances are available from the terminal’s first, second and third floors, followed by a dedicated elevator to reception.
That is excellent for an international arrival or departure using the same building. It does not place the reception beside every domestic gate, baggage belt or railway platform.
Save the hotel’s official floor-by-floor access map. A generic airport map pin can appear to place the hotel outside the terminal or suggest that the domestic building is only a few steps away.
What to know
Allow 10–12 minutes from JR or domestic arrivals
The hotel measures the indoor route from JR New Chitose Airport Station at about 700 metres and ten minutes. From the domestic terminal’s first-floor arrival area it publishes about 960 metres and twelve minutes.
The route uses the second-floor connecting corridor toward the International Terminal. Near the far end, pass the Lawson and continue to the black hotel doors rather than taking an earlier public elevator.
Add time for baggage claim, crowded corridors, winter clothing, mobility needs and finding the correct entrance. Do not use the ten-minute hotel walk as the complete flight-to-train or train-to-check-in connection time.
What to know
The standard 43m² room is already large
The Superior Room is 43m² with two 120-by-210-centimetre beds and official capacity for one or two guests. Its floor area is generous by airport-hotel standards, but two beds do not turn it into a four-person room.
The 63m² Junior Suite adds living and dining space and is offered in Twin, Double and Accessible Twin variants. The room page publishes a 140-by-210-centimetre bed size, so match the selected marketplace layout rather than assuming every Junior Suite has the same number of beds.
Both categories list substantial equipment such as Wi-Fi, Nespresso machine, Bluetooth speaker, air purifier, refrigerator, kettle, charging cable, large television and bathrobes. A minibar is listed among amenities; confirm what is complimentary before consuming it.
What to know
Children can share a bed, but capacity remains two
The hotel FAQ states that children under 12 who do not require a separate bed have no room charge. Children over 12 are charged like adults, and child breakfast is additional when not included.
This rule does not automatically override the booking engine’s maximum occupancy or produce an extra bed. Enter every adult and child with the correct age on Klook, then confirm the registered party and bed-sharing arrangement.
A family that needs three permanent sleeping surfaces should not book a two-person room and hope for an unlisted rollaway. Ask the hotel for written confirmation or choose another property whose room inventory explicitly fits the family.
What to know
The hotel onsen is not the public airport onsen
Portom’s natural hot spring is on the hotel’s fourth floor and is available only to staying guests. Current hours are 15:00 through 10:00 the next morning, while the sauna operates 15:00–24:00 and 06:00–10:00.
This is separate from New Chitose Airport Onsen in the domestic-terminal entertainment area. Reviews, admission prices and opening hours for that public facility do not describe Portom’s guest bath.
The official English page does not publish every bathing rule. Contact the hotel before booking when tattoos, privacy, mobility, medical conditions or a child’s use of the bath affects the decision rather than relying on general Japanese onsen advice.
What to know
Breakfast is a premium extra unless included
The current breakfast buffet at Tateru Yoshino runs from 06:00 to 11:00 with last order at 10:30. The checked price is ¥4,807 for adults, ¥2,530 for children aged 6–11, and free for children aged five or younger, including tax and service charge.
A signature egg dish can carry an additional charge, and a room-only rate does not include breakfast simply because Klook displays restaurant photos. Check every guest’s inclusion on the final room plan.
Breakfast opening at 06:00 may still be too late for an early bag drop or boarding time after the walk to domestic check-in. Work backward from the airline deadline before paying for breakfast.
What to know
Dinner and cultural experiences need advance planning
The hotel operates French and Japanese restaurants, a café, bar, tea-ceremony house, shop and guest gallery. These make Portom more than a transit sleep, but operating days and reservations matter.
From June 1, 2026 until further notice, the hotel lists Tateru Yoshino dinner from 18:00 to 22:00 with Wednesday and Thursday closures, and Shimogamo Saryo lunch and dinner with Monday and Tuesday closures. Dinner reservation deadlines apply.
The tea house is currently reservation-based and normally closed Tuesday through Thursday. Recheck the dated operations notice for the actual stay rather than assuming every venue shown in the hotel gallery opens every day.
What to know
Accessibility needs belong in the room decision
The hotel says the terminal approach is step-free and that some Junior Suite Twin rooms are wheelchair accessible. Wheelchairs are also available for loan.
“Some” is not a guarantee that an accessible room appears in ordinary Klook inventory. Contact the hotel before payment with the wheelchair dimensions, transfer needs, bathroom requirements and whether airport assistance must connect to the hotel entrance.
The 700–960 metre indoor approach remains relevant even without stairs. Coordinate with the airline or airport for assistance through the terminal; the hotel’s accessible room does not automatically provide gate-to-reception escort.

Airport parking is not hotel-owned parking
The official access page directs drivers to New Chitose Airport Parking A or B. It does not present a dedicated hotel car park or a guaranteed overnight guest rate.
Klook currently displays an approximate nearby parking fee, but airport rates, maximum periods and discounts can change. Check the airport parking operator for the real entry date and keep the parking ticket.
The hotel FAQ mentions a two-hour parking benefit for restaurant use, not a blanket overnight-stay promise. Do not apply that restaurant rule to a hotel booking unless the property confirms it.
What to know
The 2026 Hokkaido tax is already in the hotel’s displayed rate
Hokkaido accommodation tax applies to stays from April 1, 2026. It is ¥100 per person per night below ¥20,000, ¥200 from ¥20,000 to below ¥50,000, and ¥500 at ¥50,000 or more, based on the taxable accommodation charge.
Portom’s own March 2026 notice says it includes this tax in the room rate it displays. Klook’s generic policy currently also shows an old-looking flat city-tax line, which does not match the hotel’s published Hokkaido table.
Use the final Klook price breakdown and confirmation to establish what that seller collected. If the marketplace still shows a conflicting flat tax, ask Klook or the hotel in writing rather than budgeting both amounts without evidence.

How to compare Klook with the official rate
Open the paid link below, select the real date and match Portom International Hokkaido, hotel 280165, International Terminal Building 4F and official capacity for one or two guests.
Compare the same room category, bed type, breakfast, payment timing, cancellation deadline and tax inclusion. The hotel FAQ gives a general cancellation-fee starting point eight days before arrival, but explicitly says conditions can vary; the selected Klook rate controls a Klook booking.
