What the ticket actually buys
Admission includes the round-trip ropeway from central Noboribetsu Onsen to the mountain-top park. At the top, visitors find male and female brown-bear enclosures, a protected close-viewing room known as the Human Cage, the Brown Bear Museum, Yukara Village, a Lake Kuttara observation deck, shops and a cafe.
Bear food, duck-race participation, extra food, souvenirs and parking are not presented as included. Klook’s current ticket is general admission rather than a guided tour, transfer from JR Noboribetsu Station or reserved animal program.
This is a compact attraction built around observation and interpretation. Do not compare the ticket only with a large zoo by area; the ropeway and onsen-town location are a substantial part of its convenience and price.
What to know
An honest animal-welfare decision comes first
The park keeps Hokkaido brown bears in purpose-built captive enclosures and encourages visitors to buy food and throw it to the bears. The Human Cage places visitors behind protected glass and barriers inside the first enclosure for very close observation.
Some travelers value the chance to study bear anatomy, behavior and scale at close range. Others will find the enclosure design, animal density or food-begging behavior incompatible with their standards. The operator’s promotional claims do not settle that personal ethical judgment.
Look at current official images, map and independent recent visitor footage before paying. If captive display or performance is a concern, skip the attraction and use Noboribetsu for volcanic landscapes, onsen and responsible wildlife education instead.
What to know
The ropeway is the only route into the park
The attraction sits on Bear Mountain and the operator says entry requires the ropeway. Gondolas normally carry up to six people and cover the 1,260-metre line in about seven minutes, climbing roughly 300 metres.
The round trip is already included in admission, so no separate ropeway ticket should be added. The ride is not merely optional transport: a safety inspection or weather suspension means the mountain-top attraction cannot operate normally.
Visitors uncomfortable with enclosed gondolas, heights or wind movement should decide before buying. Contact the operator in advance for wheelchair, stroller, mobility-equipment or assistance requirements because the public English pages do not document every boarding dimension or step.
What to know
Use the correct seasonal hours
From April 21 through October 20, official ticket sales run from 09:00 to 16:20 and the park closes at 17:00. From October 21 through April 20, sales run 09:30–15:50 and the park closes at 16:30.
The last ticket time is not a recommended arrival time. A visitor still needs the upward ropeway, enclosures, museum, viewpoint and downward ride. Arriving near the cutoff can reduce value and create pressure around the last gondolas.
The English site also displays a duplicate hours table with an unexplained 08:30 opening, so use the dated operating notice or contact the park if an early visit depends on it. This guide uses the clearly labeled summer and winter table checked July 26, 2026.
What to know
Inspection and weather can close the entire attraction
The operator closed the park from April 6–24, 2026 for scheduled ropeway inspection. That period has passed, but it demonstrates why a hotel blog or reseller availability screen is not enough evidence that the gondola will run.
High wind, heavy snow, lightning or technical conditions can affect ropeway operation. Low cloud and rain can also hide Lake Kuttara even when the park remains open.
Check the official homepage on the morning of the visit. If the view matters, also check the weather over the mountain rather than only the onsen-town temperature. Keep an alternative such as Jigokudani or an onsen activity that remains safe and open.
What to know
The bears are not the only reason to go
The Brown Bear Museum displays taxidermy from newborn to adult stages, skeletons and nearly 500 materials about bear evolution, global distribution, biology and conflict with livestock. This is the strongest educational complement to viewing live animals.
Yukara Village recreates aspects of early-Meiji-period Ainu life and displays tools in an Ainu lifestyle materials building. Treat it as the park’s interpretation, not as a complete or substitute account of living Ainu culture.
The viewpoint above the museum overlooks circular Lake Kuttara and forest in Shikotsu-Toya National Park when conditions are clear. Cloud, fog and snowfall can make the view disappear, so do not buy a non-refundable ticket solely for the panorama.
What to know
2026 cubs are seasonal, not a permanent promise
The park began displaying eight cubs born in 2026 from April 25. The operator’s general cub information says newborn displays run only in the birth year and roughly from early May to early December.
Animal health and weather can shorten, pause or change cub viewing. Visitors cannot touch the cubs; a separate official photo event placed the keeper and cub next to guests and could be suspended.
Check the current daily notice rather than assuming the Klook thumbnail or an April announcement guarantees cub visibility on your date.
What to know
Bear feeding and duck races cost extra
Visitor feeding is part of the park experience, but the official English pages do not publish one permanent feed price or guarantee that every bear will respond. Buy only the authorized food onsite and follow keeper instructions.
The park also promotes duck races in which visitors select a duck and may receive an original prize. Schedules, fees and operation can change with animal welfare, weather and staffing.
Treat feeding, shows and races as optional extras rather than a guaranteed itinerary. The museum, Yukara Village and viewpoint provide alternatives when an animal program is not running.

How to combine the park with Noboribetsu Onsen
The ropeway base is at 224 Noboribetsu Onsen-cho in the hot-spring town, not beside JR Noboribetsu Station. Visitors arriving by rail must first use a local bus, taxi or hotel arrangement to reach the onsen area.
A logical day combines an early Bear Park visit with Jigokudani and the onsen town. Do not schedule the ropeway so tightly before a reserved bus or train that one queue or weather pause breaks the onward journey.
Drivers should search for the Noboribetsu Bear Park Ropeway Station because navigation to a mountain-top name can be misleading. Official parking is ¥500 for an ordinary car, ¥1,000 for a large vehicle and ¥200 for a motorcycle.
What to know
The free onsen shuttle does not serve JR Noboribetsu
The operator offers a free on-demand shuttle within the Noboribetsu Onsen town area. Ask the Donan Bus Noboribetsu Onsen Terminal, the local tourism association or a hotel front desk to call it; for the return, ask ticket or shop staff.
The shuttle does not go to JR Noboribetsu Station or Oyunuma Natural Footbath. It is a local last-mile service, not an airport or railway transfer.
The operator has announced that the shuttle will not run from August 8 through August 15, 2026 because of expected traffic congestion. During that period, allow time to walk or arrange another local ride between the onsen area and ropeway base.
What to know
Mountain weather changes comfort and value
The top station is higher and more exposed than the hotel streets below. Wind, rain, snow and fog can affect the gondola, outdoor enclosures and lake view even when the town feels manageable.
Bring layers and rain protection appropriate to Hokkaido, and use footwear that handles wet or icy surfaces. A gondola and cafe do not make every outdoor path climate controlled.
The Bear Mountain Cafe currently lists meals such as curry and ramen, with food service from 10:30 and last order at 15:00; drinks and desserts continue until 16:00. Verify opening on the day and do not depend on a late lunch after the cutoff.
What to know
Klook’s ticket needs live mobile access
Klook currently sells one selected-date admission ticket with instant confirmation and no cancellation. It lists adult admission and child admission for ages 4–12; use the final age definition at checkout and remember that the operator’s own child category ends at elementary-school year 6.
The voucher is an online e-ticket. Klook says the guest must log in to the app or website and open the voucher with internet access. Staff must operate the redemption; if the traveler marks it used independently, it is no longer valid.
A screenshot alone may not satisfy that rule. Keep an active eSIM or other data connection at the mountain-base ticket counter, remain logged in and preserve battery. Do not buy until weather, ropeway operation and the selected date are reasonably certain because the current package is non-refundable.
What to know
Accessibility needs direct confirmation
The public official English pages do not provide the gondola doorway, wheelchair weight, platform gap, lift, slope or accessible-toilet measurements needed for a reliable independent accessibility decision.
Contact Noboribetsu Onsen Cable with the wheelchair dimensions, transfer ability, folding requirement, companion assistance and desired exhibits. Also ask whether weather or crowd procedures change boarding.
A general map icon or third-party “wheelchair accessible” label is not enough evidence for every route at a mountain facility. Obtain the answer before buying a no-cancellation voucher.

Final booking sequence
First, decide whether the captive-animal and feeding format matches your values. Second, confirm the park and ropeway are expected to operate and that the mountain weather preserves enough value.
Then fit the park into a Noboribetsu Onsen day, not an unrealistic Sapporo dash. Check the exact child category, access from JR Noboribetsu, shuttle availability, mobility needs and backup plan.
After buying, keep the Klook voucher live and unused, charge the phone, save the official homepage and arrive well before last sales. Recheck cubs, events, cafe and return transport on the day.
