Before you book

Make these decisions in order.

  1. 01

Match the exact Klook room name to the official floor area, bed layout, maximum occupancy and bathroom arrangement.

  2. 02

Choose a breakfast-inclusive rate if breakfast matters; room-only guests can be refused when the restaurant is at capacity.

  3. 03

Budget the combined Sapporo and Hokkaido accommodation tax and confirm whether it is included or collected at the hotel.

  4. 04

Save the North Exit walking route, contact the hotel before a late arrival and check current notices for closures or facility changes.

What to know

The location favors rail travel, not every Sapporo night out

The hotel is at 11-1 Kita 8-jo Nishi 4-chome, north of JR Sapporo Station and beside the Hokkaido University side of the city. The operator describes the walk from the station’s North Exit as about three minutes. This is a practical base for the Rapid Airport train, intercity JR departures and early rail day trips.

It is less convenient when most of your evenings center on Odori, Tanukikoji or Susukino. Those areas remain easy to reach, but you will use the subway, walk farther or pay for a taxi. Do not choose the hotel simply because a booking map labels it “central”; choose it for the north-station connection.

The hotel has 337 rooms across a 17-story building. A large inventory helps explain the range of room names, but it does not make one room type interchangeable with another.

What to know

The underground route is not door to door

The hotel says it is about 200 metres from the underground walkway connected to Sapporo Station. From the walkway’s Exit 9, guests still climb to street level, cross toward Yotsuya Gakuin and walk the final block outdoors. Snow, ice, rain and luggage wheels still matter.

The official wheelchair route avoids Exit 9’s stairs by using elevators through Sapporo L-Plaza, then returns to street level for roughly the last 100 metres. Save the illustrated official route before arrival; a generic map can lead to the wrong station gate or a staircase.

In winter, use footwear with traction and allow more than the published three minutes. The short distance is real, but it is measured under ordinary walking conditions rather than with deep snow, a large suitcase or an unfamiliar station.

What to know

Choose the bathroom before choosing the view

The most important room difference is not the floor—it is whether the bath, toilet and sink are separated. The 23 m² Comfort Twin on floors 15–17, 20 m² Comfort Double on floors 15–17 and 22 m² Premier King Double on floors 15–17 have three separated areas. The 39 m² Universal Room on the third floor also has a separated arrangement.

The regular 23 m² Twin, 20 m² Hollywood Twin, 20 m² King Double and 23 m² three-person room use a combined bathroom. Two listings that both say “twin” can therefore produce a materially different family routine.

If two people need to shower and prepare at the same time, pay for the exact separated-bathroom type rather than sending a request after booking. Special requests do not convert one sold room category into another.

  • Comfort Twin: 23 m², two 122 cm beds, high floor, separated bath/toilet/sink.
  • Twin: 23 m², two 110 cm beds, floors 4–14, combined bathroom.
  • Hollywood Twin: 20 m², two 113 cm beds, floors 4–12, combined bathroom.
  • King Double: 20 m², one 183 cm bed, floors 13–14, combined bathroom.

What to know

A triple booking uses an extra-bed layout

The hotel’s three-person category is a 23 m² twin room configured with an extra bed, for three 110 cm beds in total. Some rooms in this category do not have the sofa shown in other room photographs. It is a workable sleeping solution, not a large suite.

Three adults with large winter suitcases should consider the usable floor area after the extra bed is installed. Compare two rooms when privacy, bag access or different sleep schedules matter more than keeping the group in one room.

The maximum occupancy shown for the room controls the booking. Do not add an unregistered adult or assume a young child never counts toward a seller’s occupancy calculation.

What to know

Children six and over are charged as adults for the room

The hotel’s official FAQ says children aged six and over are charged as adults. One child aged five or under may share existing bedding free per paying adult. A child’s age, number of adults and bed use must all be entered correctly in Klook before comparing totals.

The hotel offers a limited number of baby cribs, bed rails, diaper bins, children’s slippers, toothbrushes and 110 cm nightwear on request. Availability depends on the room and stock, so request essential items in writing rather than treating them as included inventory.

Breakfast has separate age rules and pricing. A free room-sharing child does not automatically make every meal or add-on free unless the selected plan says so.

What to know

The public bathhouse has rules an ordinary spa icon does not explain

The guest-only bathhouse is on the second floor and is free for registered overnight guests. Current hours are 15:00–01:00, with last entry at 00:30, and 05:00–10:00, with last entry at 09:30. Bring the towels from your room; guests may wear hotel nightwear and slippers to the bathhouse.

Guests who are intoxicated or have uncovered tattoos may not enter. The hotel provides free cover tape in two published sizes—9.5 by 14 cm and 7.5 by 9.5 cm—on request. If the tattoo cannot be fully covered, choose the in-room bathroom rather than assuming an exception.

Children under seven need an accompanying parent or guardian, mixed-gender bathing is prohibited from age seven, and children who are not toilet trained may not enter. Families should resolve who can accompany each child before treating the bathhouse as a core reason to book.

What to know

Breakfast is worth deciding at reservation time

The buffet currently runs from 06:00 to 10:30, with last order at 10:00, and emphasizes Hokkaido ingredients including live-cooked items. The guest price checked on July 26, 2026 was ¥2,500 for adults, ¥1,250 for ages six through twelve and free for ages five and under.

The official page says prices will change on October 1, 2026. More importantly, breakfast-inclusive guests receive priority; room-only guests may be unable to add breakfast when the venue reaches capacity. If breakfast is part of the hotel’s value for you, compare an included plan rather than relying on same-day purchase.

For consecutive stays, the hotel also advertises the use of eligible breakfast vouchers at Kita-No-Gourmet-Tei in the Sapporo Central Wholesale Market Outer Market, with a free hotel shuttle. Confirm that your specific voucher is eligible and reserve any required transport before building the day around it.

What to know

The lounge and laundry make longer stays easier

The first-floor guest lounge is free for registered guests from 15:00 to 23:00 and provides coffee, tea, water, Wi-Fi and electrical outlets. It can function as a short work or planning space, but guests should not enter in room nightwear or slippers.

A 24-hour coin laundry is on the second floor, with additional machines in the women-only bathhouse area during bathhouse hours. A microwave is available on the second floor around the clock, and the hotel provides ice and water facilities on guest floors.

These services are useful for remote workers and multi-day Hokkaido trips, but the lounge is shared rather than a private coworking office. Do not rely on it for confidential calls, guaranteed seating or commercial meetings.

What to know

Luggage storage has useful same-day limits

Free lockers are available on the check-in day and until 23:00 on the check-out day, with a front-desk procedure. The hotel may also consider luggage between two nearby reservations, but storage space is limited and should be confirmed.

Advance packages must show the reservation name and check-in date. The hotel does not accept cash-on-delivery, refrigerated or frozen shipments and asks for delivery around the day before check-in.

Yamato service from the hotel does not ship to airports. A separate Airporter service can send luggage from the hotel to New Chitose Airport’s International Terminal. Do not book that service for a domestic-terminal pickup without confirming the handover plan, deadline and eligibility.

What to know

Add the 2026 Sapporo and Hokkaido accommodation tax

Stays in Sapporo from April 1, 2026 are subject to both the city and Hokkaido accommodation taxes, even when the reservation was made before that date. The combined amount is charged per person per night according to the taxable accommodation price.

The current combined tax is ¥300 below ¥20,000, ¥400 from ¥20,000 to below ¥50,000, and ¥1,000 at ¥50,000 or more. Qualified school trips and specified school-related events have exemptions; ordinary leisure travelers should budget the charge.

A Klook total may display taxes and fees without making the local collection point obvious. Read the final payment breakdown and bring a payment method for any amount collected at the hotel.

What to know

Late arrival and payment information need confirmation

Klook’s public property page currently lists check-in from 15:00 to before 22:00 and says after-hours check-in is unavailable. The hotel’s own FAQ says there is no curfew, although its entrance is locked from 01:00 to 06:00 and registered guests use a room key. A guest who has not checked in cannot rely on that key access.

Contact the hotel before booking when your flight, airport train or winter weather could push arrival beyond 22:00. Give the reservation name and expected time, obtain written confirmation and update the hotel when delayed.

The public Klook page says cash is not accepted, while the hotel’s official service page lists cash and several cards or mobile methods. This conflict may reflect different transaction stages or rate types. Use the selected Klook checkout instructions, carry a widely accepted card and confirm how local taxes or incidentals will be settled.

What to know

Parking is limited and cannot be reserved

The hotel’s multistory garage is first come, first served, cannot be reserved and has a published vehicle-height limit of 205 cm. The current hotel service page lists ¥2,000 per night, from 14:00 until noon, with affiliated parking used when the hotel garage cannot accommodate the vehicle.

A rental car, roof box or taller van may not fit even when a booking page shows a parking icon. Confirm the complete vehicle dimensions and the affiliated-lot process before collection.

For a Sapporo-only stay, the station location often makes a car unnecessary. Consider renting only for the rural segment instead of paying for an unused vehicle in the city.

What to know

Accessibility has an actual room category and station route

The 39 m² Universal Room is on the third floor, accommodates up to three and includes one adjustable bed plus two standard beds, a separated bathroom and a bath chair. The hotel describes the building as barrier-free, welcomes assistance dogs and lends wheelchairs in limited quantities.

That is more useful than a generic accessibility icon, but it still does not guarantee that the Universal Room is offered by Klook on your dates. Contact the hotel about doorway widths, bed transfer, bath setup, parking and any equipment that determines whether the stay works.

Use the official elevator route through Sapporo L-Plaza from JR Sapporo Station. It avoids the stairs at underground Exit 9 but still includes an outdoor street section.

What to know

Check dated closures before selecting the rate

The hotel has announced that the entire building will be unavailable for the annual legal inspection on March 2, 2027. Guests must check out that morning, the next available check-in is March 3, and breakfast will not be served on March 3.

Facilities can also close for maintenance independently of room sales. Open the hotel’s news page before booking and again shortly before travel, especially when the public bathhouse or breakfast is the reason you chose the property.

Do not accept a substituted room-only stay at the same price if a meaningful included facility is closed without first reviewing the seller’s remedy and cancellation options.

What to know

Cancellation follows the seller and room rate

The hotel’s general direct-booking FAQ lists 50% from two days before check-in, 80% one day before and 100% on the check-in day or for a no-show. The hotel explicitly tells third-party customers to contact the travel agency or booking site that sold the room.

Klook rates can be refundable, partially refundable or non-refundable depending on the selected room and meal plan. The final rate rule—not the hotel’s general table and not another traveler’s screenshot—controls the Klook transaction.

Compare the total stay, room type, meals, tax treatment, payment timing and cancellation deadline before paying. Save the deadline in Japan time and the exact room name from the final confirmation.

What to know

Final booking sequence

First, decide whether station proximity, the bathhouse or a separated in-room bathroom is the main reason for choosing Keio Prelia. Second, match the exact Klook room name and occupancy to the official room table. Third, compare breakfast-included and room-only totals after adding the 2026 accommodation tax.

Before payment, resolve any arrival after 22:00, tattoo, child, accessibility, parking or luggage-delivery need in writing. Check the cancellation deadline and whether payment, local tax or incidentals remain due at the property.

Room inventory, rates, breakfast prices, taxes, facility hours and notices can change after this July 26, 2026 review. Recheck the hotel’s official pages and selected Klook rate before completing the booking.
