What to know
Choose Hotel Ocean for Naha, not a beach-resort stay
Hotel Ocean stands at 2-4-8 Asato near the eastern end of Kokusai Street. Its advantage is access to Naha dining, shopping and the Yui Rail, plus a deliberate family focus inside the hotel.
It is not an oceanfront Okinawa resort despite the name. Travelers planning most days around a private beach, large resort pools or northern Okinawa attractions should compare a coastal property or split the trip. Hotel Ocean works better before or after a flight, for car-free Naha sightseeing, or as an urban base with children.
What to know
Airport and Makishi Station access
The hotel’s official access page directs guests from Naha Airport onto the Yui Rail toward Shuri, with an approximately 16-minute ride to Makishi Station. From Makishi, it describes a roughly three-minute walk in the direction of the Matsumoto Kiyoshi store.
That timing is the rail ride plus a short final walk, not a guaranteed door-to-door airport transfer. Add time for the airport station, ticketing, lifts, waiting and luggage. The hotel does not describe a private airport shuttle on its official access page.
What to know
Match the room to the family, not the hotel headline
The official room page publishes materially different layouts. The 18 m² Hollywood Triple has one 90 cm single and two 120 cm semi-double beds placed side by side. The 26 m² Family Room normally has four 90 cm beds, with a fifth 90 cm extra bed only for five-person use.
The 36 m² Japanese Room accepts up to six futon sets and has a separate bath and toilet, while the 40 m² Large Family Room has six 90 cm beds. These are the strongest group options when everyone needs a defined sleeping place.
The compact choices need more caution. The Small Twin is 13 m² with one 90 cm and one 120 cm bed, the Hollywood Twin is 18 m² with two 120 cm beds, and the Semi-Double Room is 13 m² with one 120 cm bed. Compare usable floor area after luggage, not only the maximum guest count.

Bed-sharing rules vary by room and seller
The hotel’s official FAQ says a child sharing existing bedding without a bed or breakfast stays free, but the public answer does not state a single age limit. The current Klook property policy is more specific: children aged five and under can share existing beds without an accommodation charge, except in the Semi-Double Room, where the displayed limit is age two and under.
Klook also says meals are not included for bed-sharing children. Treat the selected rate and room policy as controlling, enter every child and age, and obtain confirmation when the booking screen differs from the hotel FAQ. A free stay does not create an extra bed or futon.
What to know
The breakfast is part of the hotel’s identity
The official breakfast page advertises more than 100 Okinawan menu items, including regional and home-style food, selectable Okinawa-soba noodles and soup, local vegetables, fresh juice and child-oriented choices. The meal is served in the 12th-floor Sky Lounge with views across Naha.
Current official breakfast hours are 06:30–10:00. The published walk-in price for staying guests is ¥2,200 for an adult and ¥1,100 for an elementary-school child. One preschool child per paying adult is free, and baby food is available by asking the staff.
A room-only guest can buy a breakfast ticket at the front desk, but the hotel warns that admission can be restricted depending on use. Compare the breakfast-included room rate with the total room-only rate plus the correct ages before booking.

The free family lounge is useful after sightseeing
The official lounge page says all staying guests can use the 12th-floor lounge from 15:00–22:00. It offers Okinawan alcohol, snacks and sweets; alcohol service ends at 21:45. This can add value for adults while children have an appropriate snack option.
The first-floor lobby area also has a guest cafe space and adjacent children’s corner. These shared facilities do not replace a large room when a family needs early bedtimes, privacy or floor space.
What to know
Child equipment is extensive, but availability is not guaranteed
The official child-services page lists pajamas, slippers, toothbrushes, towels, shampoo, five diapers per night, one pack of wipes per stay, baby food, bed guards, cots, strollers, a baby bathtub, bottle-sterilizing equipment and other family items. It also advertises a play corner and child activities.
These items can be limited and may need advance arrangement. Klook’s current property text says baby baths are not available, while the official hotel page lists a baby bathtub. Because the sources conflict, contact the hotel before travel and do not pack on the assumption that a specific item is reserved.

The outdoor pool is seasonal and weather-dependent
The fourth-floor pool is an outdoor, unheated family pool, not a year-round resort facility. The official schedule lists 07:00–18:00 in March, April and October and 07:00–19:00 from May through September, with daily maintenance from 12:00–13:00.
The hotel can change or close the pool for strong wind, thunder advisories and other weather warnings. There is no poolside changing room, and use is limited from check-in through checkout. Towels and flotation rings are listed as available, but check the live condition before promising children a swim.

Late arrival, luggage and housekeeping need planning
Official check-in begins at 15:00 and checkout is by 11:00. The front desk operates 24 hours, but the hotel asks guests to make contact when arrival will be after 22:00. Klook additionally tells guests to arrange check-in instructions in advance, so send the notice through the channel shown on the confirmation.
The official FAQ accepts luggage before check-in and after checkout. Incoming parcels should show the stay date, reservation name and contact details. This can help a family traveling with bags, but the property does not accept living animals as stored items.
Klook currently states that full housekeeping with room cleaning and bed making is provided for stays of four nights or more, while trash collection and towel exchange are daily. The wording does not clearly define every cleaning interval, so confirm it for a longer stay rather than assuming daily full service.

Parking is first come and size-limited
The official mechanical car park costs ¥1,500 per night and allows taking the car in and out. Spaces cannot be reserved and are allocated first come.
The hotel publishes limits of 160 cm vertically and 170 cm horizontally, and directs oversized vehicles to nearby coin parking. Because a rental car’s complete dimensions and the park’s available space determine entry, send the exact vehicle model or dimensions to the hotel when parking is important.

Laundry and Wi-Fi are practical, not luxury extras
A 24-hour self-service washer-dryer area is located on the fourth floor near the pool entrance. The official FAQ says machines, dryers and detergent accept ¥100 coins, with a change machine in the first-floor lobby.
Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property without a password according to the official FAQ. An open network is convenient but should not be treated as private; use secure websites and a VPN for sensitive work. Creators and remote workers should test the actual room connection before relying on uploads or live calls.

How to compare Klook with other booking sites
Hotel Ocean’s official FAQ says direct reservations through its website ended in 2020 and directs guests to external booking services. That makes the correct comparison the same named room, dates, every guest’s age, breakfast inclusion, tax, payment timing and cancellation deadline across sellers.

Enter the complete party, then verify the named room and beds against the official room page. Ignore generic marketplace fee text that does not match a service actually provided by this hotel, and ask the property or Klook when a charge is unclear.
What to know
Who should stay, and who should look elsewhere
Stay when Kokusai Street and monorail access matter, the family needs multiple beds or child equipment, and Okinawan breakfast is part of the experience. It is especially practical for the first or final Naha nights around a flight.
Look elsewhere for an oceanfront resort, a guaranteed parking bay, a large year-round pool or an apartment kitchen. Couples without children may also find better value in a simpler room nearby if they will not use the breakfast, lounge or family services.
