Before you book
Make these decisions in order.
- 01
Read the complete Klook room name and identify Ocean’s Wing or Villa Garden before comparing rates.
- 02
Check whether the room explicitly guarantees ocean view, bed layout, guest count and breakfast.
- 03
Reserve the free airport shuttle separately on the hotel’s official site and save the confirmation.
- 04
If tattoos cannot be fully covered, ask the hotel about the exact pool and public-bath restriction before booking.
- 05
Price taxis or a rental car if your itinerary depends on early ferries, downtown restaurants or island-wide sightseeing.
What to know
The hotel name hides two different stays
Grandvrio Resort Ishigakijima is sold as one resort, but its official site separates Ocean’s Wing and Villa Garden. The entrances and front desks are about five minutes apart on foot, and the hotel can provide an internal vehicle transfer on request. Arriving at the wrong wing with luggage is avoidable friction.
The room name controls the stay. Save the wing abbreviation—OW or VG—along with the reservation. Use the address and front-desk instruction in the final voucher rather than asking a driver for only “Grandvrio.”
What to know
Choose Ocean’s Wing for facilities and convenience
Ocean’s Wing is the larger, facility-led side. It contains the Tingara building, the separate two-storey Tumoru building, indoor and outdoor pools, Hana no Yu public bath and sauna, the tour desk, shops, rooftop Stardust Terrace and several restaurants.
Its 12 official room categories range from garden-side twins to ocean-view rooms, loft family rooms, seaside rooms and suites. “Ocean’s Wing” does not itself guarantee an ocean view: choose a room whose name explicitly says ocean view or seaside if that matters.
What to know
Choose Villa Garden for a quieter resort layout
Villa Garden is arranged like a low-rise village with 100 rooms across three areas. Its four main room styles include garden-view rooms, terrace rooms and a private-pool cottage. The atmosphere is more private, but it is still part of a resort rather than an isolated standalone villa.
Villa Garden has its own front desk, Kagura public bath, Teeda restaurant, spa, shop, laundry and a guest-only seasonal outdoor pool. Villa Garden guests may also use the Ocean’s Wing pools and public-bath facilities; do not assume the reverse access applies unless the hotel confirms it.
What to know
Room view, building and occupancy must be guaranteed in writing
Klook displays multiple room names, including Villa Garden terrace ocean-view and garden-view categories. A property photo or review summary is not a room-view guarantee. Check the exact building, court, floor wording, view, bed type and square metres in the selected room panel.
Enter every adult and child before comparing prices. The Klook policy warns that special requests are subject to availability, so adjacent rooms, a high floor or a particular orientation should not be treated as confirmed unless the booking or hotel explicitly confirms it.
What to know
The airport shuttle needs a separate reservation
The hotel runs a free scheduled shuttle between Painushima Ishigaki Airport and the resort, but a room booking does not automatically reserve a seat. Use the official web form and match the stop to Ocean’s Wing or Villa Garden.
The current 2026 shuttle PDF says reservations close at 18:00 on the previous day and asks travelers to choose a departure at least 30 minutes after flight arrival. Some official accommodation-plan text elsewhere still mentions 15:00, so reserve earlier than either deadline and keep the confirmation. A delayed flight does not guarantee that the bus will wait; a missed departure means using a public bus or taxi at your own cost.
What to know
Do not rely on Klook’s 15-minute airport estimate
Klook currently labels Ishigaki Airport as 13 kilometres and about 15 minutes by car. The hotel’s own access page says the taxi journey is about 40 minutes, which is the safer planning figure. Traffic and weather can extend it.
The hotel also says there is no direct public bus from the airport to the resort; a transfer at the bus terminal is required. This makes the pre-booked shuttle, taxi or rental car more practical when carrying luggage.
What to know
The resort is not central Ishigaki
The hotel places Ishigaki Port Remote Island Terminal about ten minutes away by car. That is convenient with a taxi but not the same as staying within walking distance of ferries, downtown restaurants or bus connections.
Choose this resort for time on property and planned transport. If your schedule includes an early ferry every morning or nightlife in the port area, compare the extra taxi time and cost with a central hotel. A rental car adds freedom for Kabira Bay and island drives, but confirm parking and driver-license requirements separately.
What to know
Pool access changes by season, age and wing
Ocean’s Wing has a seasonal outdoor pool, officially scheduled 09:00–18:00 from March–May and September–October, and 09:00–19:00 from June–August. Its heated indoor pool operates year-round from 09:00–12:00 and 14:00–21:00, subject to maintenance.
The main indoor pool is for elementary-school age and above, at least 110 centimetres tall and able to swim independently; younger children use the shallow toddler pool. One guardian is required for each child under ten. Villa Garden’s seasonal outdoor pool is for Villa Garden guests, while Villa Garden guests may also use the Ocean’s Wing pools.

Tattoo rules affect both pools and public baths
The hotel’s official pool and bath pages restrict tattoos, tattoo stickers and body paint. Pool use is permitted when they are fully covered by a rash guard or covering sticker; the public-bath page says use is possible only when the tattoo can be concealed by a sticker.
A large tattoo that cannot be fully covered may prevent use of these facilities. Contact the hotel with the size and location before relying on the pool, sauna or public bath as a reason to book. A room with a private bathing facility does not automatically include a private onsen.
What to know
Breakfast differs by wing and booking plan
Villa Garden’s Teeda buffet runs 06:30–10:00 and the official page currently lists ¥3,500 adult and ¥1,750 child when paid separately. It advertises more than 80 items. Ocean’s Wing’s La Mer buffet also runs 06:30–10:00 and currently lists ¥2,800 adult and ¥1,400 child, with more than 40 items.
Those prices were checked July 26, 2026 and can change. First determine whether breakfast is already included in the selected room rate; do not add it twice. Travelers with allergies should contact the hotel because a buffet description is not an allergen guarantee.
What to know
A sea view is not the same as a swimmable hotel beach
The resort faces the sea and markets pools, views and marine activities, but the official site does not present an on-site swimming beach as a core facility. Klook’s broader “easy access to beaches” wording should not be interpreted as private-beach access from every building.
If a sandy swimming beach is essential, identify the beach, transport and season before booking. Treat the on-property outdoor and indoor pools as the guaranteed swimming facilities described by the hotel.
What to know
Island tours are convenient but not automatically included
Ocean’s Wing has a marine desk and tour desk for snorkeling, diving, stargazing and trips to Taketomi, Iriomote and other Yaeyama islands. These are separate paid products with their own weather, age and cancellation rules.
Use the desk as planning support, not as a guarantee of same-day availability. Book must-do boat tours in advance, especially during summer and Japanese holiday periods, and leave weather flexibility in an island itinerary.
What to know
A new accommodation tax starts in 2027
For stays from February 1, 2027, the hotel says Okinawa’s accommodation tax will be 2% of the pre-tax room price per person per night, capped at ¥2,000. It is collected separately at checkout even when the room was prepaid, and applies to qualifying stays booked before the start date.
Klook prices for 2027 may therefore not be the final amount paid on property. Keep a small payment margin and read the selected rate’s tax-and-fee section before purchase.

How to compare a Klook hotel rate properly
Set the real check-in and check-out dates, complete guest ages and room count before comparing. Match the same wing, room, view, breakfast inclusion, payment timing and cancellation deadline against the official hotel offer.
A cheaper non-refundable room is not equivalent to a flexible rate during typhoon season. Confirm whether the booking charges now or at the hotel, what happens after a flight disruption, and whether the final voucher repeats the airport-shuttle and check-in instructions.
