FAV LUX uses the address 6-101 Hanasatomachi and has a café, sauna-related facilities and a different room catalogue. Photos, reviews and policies from that property do not apply to fav Hida Takayama.

Before payment, match the property name, Klook number, Nishinoisshikimachi address and exterior. The words “Hida Takayama” alone are not enough to identify the building.

The official room choice is only two layouts

The 29m² Executive Twin accommodates up to four guests with two double beds. It does not add a third or fourth separate bed, so four guests means two people sharing each double.

The 35m² Executive Bunk accommodates up to six with two queen beds and two single beds. The name can make the arrangement sound like six separate bunks, but the official bed list confirms that four of the six sleeping places are shared queen beds.

Enter the full party before comparing prices. Choose the room based on who can comfortably share, not only on the maximum occupancy or a photo taken from a wide angle.

What to know

Every room is designed for preparing simple meals

The official equipment list includes a refrigerator-freezer, microwave, kettle and kitchen. Cooking equipment includes a knife, cutting board, pot or frying pan, detergent, sponge, plates, bowls, chopsticks, forks, spoons, mugs and glasses.

That makes breakfast, takeaway food and simple family meals practical. It does not promise an oven, rice cooker, full seasoning set or unlimited replacement ingredients. Check the room before buying food that needs specialist equipment.

Takayama restaurants can close early or require reservations, especially in busy seasons. A kitchen is useful backup, but it does not replace confirming the operating hours of the shops where you intend to buy groceries.

The room has a washer, not a washer-dryer

The property’s official amenity summary lists a washing machine in the room and a bathroom drying function. It does not describe the appliance as a combined washer-dryer.

Plan enough time to hang items in the bathroom and use the drying setting. Heavy winter clothing, jeans and a full family load may not dry as quickly as a hotel coin-laundry tumble dryer.

Bring or buy suitable detergent unless the selected room information explicitly confirms it. The kitchen list includes dishwashing liquid, but dish soap is not laundry detergent.

Eco cleaning changes a multi-night stay

The current official policy uses eco cleaning on consecutive stays. Towels and rubbish can be handled daily, while in-room cleaning, bed making, amenity replenishment and bathroom cleaning are scheduled once every three days.

The five-minute station walk is on the west side

The official site states a five-minute walk from Takayama Station. Klook maps the hotel about 500 metres away and identifies the station’s Hakusan Gate, which is the west side.

That position is convenient for trains, the Nohi Bus Center and Hida Folk Village, but the preserved Sanmachi streets and morning markets lie mainly east of the tracks. A stay here is station-practical rather than directly inside Old Town.

Allow more than five minutes in snow, rain or with luggage. Save the Nishinoisshikimachi map pin because following signs toward the east exit can lead toward FAV LUX instead.

Late arrival requires the entrance code

Standard check-in begins at 15:00 and checkout is by 10:00. The official site says the entrance auto-lock engages from 22:00 and guests arriving later use the code provided after reservation.

Klook asks guests planning arrival after 21:00 to contact the property in advance and lists limited front-desk hours. A late train or bus does not make unattended entry automatic if the code or check-in procedure has not reached you.

Before travel, confirm the email address and phone number on the reservation, save the entry instructions offline and contact the property while the desk is still operating when a delay develops.

What to know

Parking has only six first-come spaces

The official hotel publishes six parking spaces at ¥1,000 before tax per night for staying guests. Reservations are not accepted and spaces are allocated first come, first served.

Drivers are instructed to stop temporarily on the hotel premises and speak with the front desk. A parking icon on Klook therefore does not guarantee a space at arrival.

Neither statement proves that an extra child can be added beyond the room’s maximum occupancy or receives a separate bed. Enter every child with the correct age and obtain written confirmation when the marketplace’s guest count and the hotel’s room capacity do not align.

Takayama City has charged accommodation tax since October 1, 2025. The amount per person per night is ¥100 below a taxable room-only price of ¥10,000, ¥200 from ¥10,000 to below ¥30,000, and ¥300 at ¥30,000 or more.

Meals and consumption tax are excluded from the taxable accommodation amount. Children remain exempt through March 31 following the date they reach age 12, and qualifying school trips have a separate exemption.

The city says collection can occur during advance payment or at the property depending on the accommodation. Inspect the Klook checkout and voucher, then budget the tax separately when it is not shown as prepaid.
